Welcome, all, to the long-awaited website of Freedom to Write! It's spent a long time in development, a long time waiting for policies to be drafted, and more, but it's finally here. Let's take a look at what's on the radar for the project.

It's spent a long time in development, a long time waiting for policies to be drafted, and more, but it's finally here.</p> <p>Let's take a look at what's on the radar for the project.</p> <h2><a href="https://readable-css.freedomtowrite.org/">readable.css</a></h2> <p>Releases of readable.css are generally few and far between, but I've been collecting some minor fixes that need to be made in preparation for an imminent v1.1.1 update. Some issues on the plan so far:</p> <ul> <li><a href="https://codeberg.org/Freedom-to-Write/readable.css/issues/10">#10 - Try to correct <code>&lt;form&gt;</code> display on <code>:not</code> failure</a></li> <li><a href="https://codeberg.org/Freedom-to-Write/readable.css/issues/12">#12 - Add contributing guide</a></li> <li><a href="https://codeberg.org/Freedom-to-Write/readable.css/issues/13">#13 - Add top and bottom margin to <code>&lt;details&gt;</code> elements</a></li> </ul> <p>Another big thing that's coming up: I plan to do a full review of the <a href="https://www.w3.org/WAI/WCAG21/quickref/">Web Content Accessibility Guidelines 2.1</a> with readable.css's compliance in mind. More information on that will be released as progress is made. You feedback and recommendations during the process and can be submitted at <a href="https://codeberg.org/Freedom-to-Write/readable.css/issues/11">the relevant Codeberg issue</a>.</p> <h2>Open Prompts</h2> <p>Open Prompts is a project that's been on the radar for a <em>long</em> time but hasn't had a tangible form yet. The idea is to have an open, curated directory of public domain writing prompts anyone can use and submit to.</p> <p>I'm happy to announce that I've got a dedicated volunteer I'm working closely with to make this project a reality! We're in the planning stage right now; more information will be released as progress is made.</p> <h2>Conclusion</h2> <p>That concludes this month's update; I'll try to publish these monthly.
